Bonander
Sweden
Enigmatic and alluring Bonander writes, produces and performs her own music. The alternative pop artist has been described as Kate bush-influenced, dramatic, dark and cinematic, or as Velvet Fields Mag would say “a crossover between Hans Zimmer and Lykke Li”. Her lyrics challenge gender conformity and often touches the lives of people that history has forgotten. Bonander released her visionary debut album, ‘Things We Don’t Talk About’ through Icons Creating Evil Art on 20th August 2021. The full-length was praised by media giants such as Rolling Stone, It’s All indie, High Snobiety and GAFFA.
Now she is back with a new EP called “the thread”, unpicking traumas revolving body and self-image. Leaning heavily on its acoustic element, the exquisite arrangements gives the EP’s theme an even more naked and exposed edge.

”And yet always there’s that voice. That weirdly beautiful high voice, like that of a fallen angel making her way slowly back to heaven with a few bruises she’s picked up along the way. It’s such a curious album, but so utterly enjoyable at the same time.” – The And Guide
“Bonander evokes a heavy-hearted, stomping sound with her latest single ‘Gone In The Wind.’” – Rolling Stone India
“…with lavish string parts and icy-like synthesizer hooks, Bonander’s appreciation to develop her music against the norm is something to admire.” – It’s All Indie
“Bonander‘s sound is used as a way to challenge our own perception of patriarchy and gender conformity.” – High Clouds
